This valiant 40 current name ailuk has been my project the last few years. I have done much work and up grades to her. I have removed bad core in her decks and refoamed them where needed. The whole boat has been peeled and relaminated using 1708 biaxial cloth ( at least 2 layers and 3 most places) and epoxy resines used. The top side is repainted and Kiwi grip applied. The hull has been faired and first coat of berrier applied. The top cap of toe rials replaced with quarter sawn white oak along with new custom white oak hatches. Her port lights have been up graded to New found metal stainless steel port lights. She has new stianless steel hand rials that need to be reinstalled to her cabin top. She has an arch from Tower in the box installed to hold solar panels. Currently there is approximately 1k watts worth of collectors and a 3k inverter along with a sizable battery bank from Dakota lithium. A water maker from sea water pro is on board but most likely the membranes will need replacing do to the time they have been pickled. (2 years) this unit make 40 gph. The westerbeke 40 has had its injectors and pump refurbished and ready for reinstalling. Had been thinking of pulling engine for a top end rebuild but was running just fine when she was hauled out in the spring of 2023. The standing rigging has been replaced along with chian plates while she was still in southern California (fall of 2022) At that time when the mast was down the wiring and lights along with new Raymarine radar was installed. There is new running rigging to be installed. There is new electronics from Raymarine along with wind and transducer. There's more and i will add as needed. The reason for departing ailuk is do to an accident I had this last summer and will be recovering from it for awhile still. I do not see myself being able to handle her comfortable. She is currently on the hard in Puerto Penesco which is a DIY yard
