    Do you like the idea of putting your personal stamp on you next boat such as deciding the colour scheme? Do you find a yacht with classic lines hard to resist? Do you like taking friends out on special trips, entertaining in a beautiful environment? Meet Duende, built by renowned Dutch shipbuilder Jongert in Medemblijk in 1963. She is currently undergoing a major refurbishment out of the water. Bottom paint and timber varnishing is complete, with the final hull, deck and cabin top paint scheme and other improvements to be decided in co-operation with the new owner. Watch Duende in action at her youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@sailingyachtduende This boat is one of very few Trewes 3 designs left, possibly the only one with an impeccably documented service history over the last twenty years. Built for a Philips corporation executive and owned by only 6 parties since new, she was completely re-built between 2002-2006 in the Netherlands, then sailed extensively offshore until 2014 under the same owner. From 2014-2022, she was based in Akaroa, Banks Peninsula, New Zealand and sailed to the Pacific Islands as well as around the local area. In 2022, the current owner brought her to Nelson and started a major overhaul. Launched at the London International Boat Show, the design turned heads even at the Royal Navy , who bought one as a pleasure craft for the admiralty. More about the Trewes designs by Siebrand van der Meer at www.trewes.com. The Dutch perfected steel yacht construction when others moved to fibreglass. Their know-how shows in the perfect forming and welding of the plates without chines. Duende is super strong and has sailed among icebergs. Her 13 tonne displacement makes her a very stable boat. Inspections are welcome at the yard near Nelson. The re-launch is scheduled for December 2025. Payment terms: NZ$ 65,000 (approximately 50% of total) now to secure the boat, balance just before launch. Total cost approximately $130,000 depends on owner’s wishes and preferences.
