Perseveren–Leo 1947 Evergreen Class scafo n.12  progetto Philip Rhodes ,classe da regata commissionata dal The Seattle’s Corinthian Yacht Club per le coste del Nord Pacifico come il progetto One Design Rhodes 33 per Yacht Club californiani. Con l’Evergreen Class Philip Rhodes è arrivato a realizzare una macchina da corsa pura, che fu l’ispirazione in dimensioni doppie di “Weatherly” il 12 metri rosso vincitrice della Coppa America del 1962.

Dal 2017 parte un restauro di due anni completo opera viva, coperta e rigging dal nuovo armatore implementando l’opera viva in cedro canadese con resina epoxi diminuendo la futura manutenzione. Il restauro anche degli interni con due cuccette in dinette, tavolo carteggio, cucina due fuochi , elettronica completa e completa dotazione di 4 winch self-tail, avvolgifiocco, randa avvolgibile sul boma, un day-sailer meraviglioso con prestazioni esaltanti.

The racing sloop Perseveren Leo is a 36 feet long sailboat built in 1947 following the design “Evergreen class” by the naval architect Philip Rhodes, from New York. Hull number 12 of 12 units built, the Perseveren has been then restored in the 1980ies and has graced Lake Washington and the Pugent sound, winning both races and beauty contests. In 2005 the boat was sold and then transported from the USA to Italy, in a shipping container. Here she founded a new house in the Venetian lagoon, where we founded it, in quite critical conditions, in 2014. We bought it from its previous owner and since January 2015 we started to plan its conservation and enhancement - to bring it back to its original shape. After we scraped away all the layer of plaster and paint that covered the hull and we brought it back to the timber planking, outside and inside, we realized how valuable and precise the construction of the hull was. Completely built with carvel planking in Canadian red cedar timber - and fastened with bronze screws - the hull aged very well, but all the timber structure needed to be dried, examined and consolidated. The restoration works endured for almost 2 and an half years and took us through several processes: starting from the consolidation of the structural elements with several very light applications of epoxy resin, to the reconstruction of the bronze case of the rudder, and so on to the refitting of the interior furniture to the disassemble, polishing and reassembling of all the deck sailing hardware.
