30 ft NEWPORT SLOOP 1975 .. .. SERIOUS MEDICAL Reasons are cause for this price.. I must sell this very sound Sail Boat, at slip in Port Townsend, ('Boat Haven') Washington .. I live in Tulsa Okla. Have sailed one sail boat or another out of Port Townsend for thirtyfive/fourty years.. Escaping work for weeks, time spent extended vacation up North in the Summers. I purchased this 30 ft Newport, what I knew to be Sound/Solid sailboat for this summer and our future . .. Intended to and did sail her Noth from Brownsville marina to my favorite Marina in Port Townsend, back in September. When lousy health news said I would not be able to continue these trips (distance/travel too great for my now too frequent infusion and IVIG treatments in Tulsa, Okla).. Enough of My Personal Note and reasons, for this Very low listing price for our clean, sound, seaworthy sailboat, (not a showpiece, it is a superclean fifty year old sloop) ready to go anywhere, now in a slip in the Port of Port Townsend, "Boat Haven",, recently photographed, end of October, on my visit to move her to a different slip, more fitting for her size. .. She's not perfect, but in terrific, solid, cared for condition. many, many photographs, near all were taken last month,, after learning I would have to sell her. Am willing to take much less than I know she's worth. It's a great boat , in terrific, stand up condition and Clean inside and out, I sailed us North , Slipping over in at Port Ludlow for a night and sailing on to P.T. next day, in September. Slipped now in P.T's. Main Marina. the 9.9 Yamaha Elect start kicker starts at touch of button (runs perfect) . the 3.3 Merc on dingy is a two stroke pull start, and starts/runs great. The autofurler on bow deployed well for our trip North, and stuck on rewind, as I've seen happen before. flights/times to check on boat, put cover on dingy, and move boat to a different slip in the marina, did not allow for tinkering with autofurler and the Universal. I've aways hated the (autofutlers) and would suggest pull it off the forestay, and hank-on the reliable jib, either the Lapper or the Jenny,, pictured bagged in the galley with the Spinnaker and the spare Main. .. Before our sail trip we fully cleaned the hull/topsides and inside.. (the bottom I paid to have pressure washed in the water last summer). I installed a new depth gage , confirmed running lights working as needed using both Garmin GPS , we sailed North below Agate Pass bridge.. .. I have reduced the price, and is at this time, still negotiable.. The Motor (Diesel) Kabota/M25-Universal is famous for reliability and longevity (look it up online).. I assume I got air in the diesel lines when I installed new Injectors..and fuel pump .... dingy is clean and paintered to aft of boat ... the 'Lectra San' unit is ancient and useless (look it up online), the head holding tank is lined up to its thru-hull. Diesel tank I did suck out empty, added four gallon back and sucked that out (clean, and good maintenance). Halyards are old but solid (hundreds of feet of spare, shipworthy line, is in Galley as pictured), the half (7/16) inch Gold Line (150'+- rhode) is good (near-new 150 ft of 5/8 rhode is spare in galley) anchor is special (see picture), galley clean/appointed, salon roomy,, midships table converts (folds and drops) with cushions for additional bunk space. the three burner stove was converted long ago to propane as is the near-new stnls. stl. grill in the cockpit. (inverter and converter charging station at Nav table). there is a beautiful (as is all the wood in this boat) folding Cockpit table (pictured with Autohelm)... the insides and out are as pictured, not all items are perfect, many, many ship-shape items are present in boat (too many to list here), some we did not have time or use for and may be untried. .. My obviously well cared for sailboat, is in a bit of a bind, worth considerably more than my recent health reasons dictate. Having just returned (Nov. 1), from visiting ,,, three near-new 12V batteries (House, Start, and Outboard start) fully charged and running outboard...I'm not hesitant to and will post this in more than one source. ... A well known maker 'Newport 30' with a solid history, and is in terrific condition for it's age. boat is locked till I return (flying from home in Tulsa), to meet with buyer on date/price we agree to for balance of $s and registration transfer. .. I treat persons with respect, and will look for the same.
