Descrizione
This 1978 Hatteras 37 Convertible is a well-kept classic with low hours on newer engines, giving you the best of both worlds!
Since the mid-1960s, Hatteras has earned a reputation for producing premium solid-fiberglass Convertibles and Motoryachts and HIGH POINT is one of the best examples ever produced. Launched in 1978, HIGH POINT was ordered with Pacific Northwest cruising in mind and is equipped with upper and lower helms. In 2001, she was refit with 430 HP Cummins 6CTA8.3M3 Diamond Series diesels that have seen 500 hours operation since new. During the refit, her owner installed a new Onan 8kW generator, Sidepower bow and stern thrusters, Espar diesel-fired cabin heating, a new double-door Norcold refrigerator, a Force 10 propane stove with oven, a new Tecma fresh-water electric head with holding tank, a transom-mounted Olsson stainless steel davit, replaced her salon windows and doors, and had her cosmetics refreshed. Within the last month new bottom paint and fresh zincs were installed. HIGH POINT is ready for new owners to add their personal touches and head out on new adventures.
HIGH POINT is docked at the owner's home and will be shown by appointment only. Please call the Listing Broker to schedule an inspection.
THIS IS A PRELIMINARY LISTING. MORE PHOTOS AND DETAILS FORTHCOMING.
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT
HIGH POINT is easily boarded across her swim platform and through the wide transom door. Crossing her generous cockpit leads to the salon with large windows on all sides. The galley flanks the port side of the salon while the starboard side includes an L-shaped settee aft and the lower helm forward. A large three-panel windshield provides excellent visibility from the lower helm. Continuing forward and down three steps, the head with walk-in shower is to port and a guest stateroom with upper and lower bunks is to starboard. Forward along the companionway is the master stateroom with v-berth, two hanging lockers and drawers in the base of the berth.
A stainless-steel ladder with teak treads leads from the cockpit to the flybridge with its tournament-style upper helm. Forward-facing seating for four is built into the front of the helm module. A stainless-steel arch overhead locates the Raymarine radome and TracVision satellite television dome. The entire flybridge is protected by a SunBrella bimini top.
Wide walk-around side decks are easily accessed from the cockpit and stainless-steel handrails provide safe passage to the foredeck and anchor pulpit with windlass.
HULL & DECK
Like all Hatteras yachts, HIGH POINT is built on a solid-fiberglass modified-v hull that features dual chines, moderate deadrise at the transom, and a long keel. Fiberglass fuel tanks hold 330 gallons and are bonded to the hull for structural rigidity. A 135-gallon fiberglass water tank and 37-gallon waste tank are mounted low in the hull to keep the center-of gravity low for a safe and comfortable ride. With a dry weight of approximately 29,000 pounds, HIGH POINT is extremely stable and relatively unaffected by wind and current. Updated with Sidepower bow and stern thrusters, HIGH POINT is easily maneuvered in close quarters.
At the hands of her second owner, HIGH POINT had a major upgrade in 2001. In addition to extensive mechanical upgrades described elsewhere, all of her salon windows and doors were replaced.
MECHANICAL
HIGH POINT was a labor-of-love for her former owner and extensive upgrades include the following:
- New twin 430-horsepower Cummins 6CTA8.3M3 diesel engines which have accumulated approximately 500 hours since installation
- New engine instrumentation at upper and lower helms including new tachometers with integral hour meters, new oil pressure gauges, and new coolant temperature gauges
- New Sidepower 12VDC bow and stern thrusters with controls at both helms
- New Tecma fresh-water electric toilet with 37-gallon polyethylene holding tank
- New Espar diesel-fired hot air cabin heating
- New Olsson stainless-steel tender davit
ELECTRICAL
HIGH POINT's electrical system includes the following:

- Blue Sea Systems electrical distribution panel for 12VDC and 115VAC services
- Group 4D engine starting batteries
